Romanian: Lesson 5-Introducing Yourself

Romanian: Lesson 5-Introducing Yourself

There are several ways to do that..
1-Care este numele tău ? (Informal) / Care este numele dumneavoastră ? (Formal)/(What's your name)
The answer will be : Numele meu este.. (my name is..)
2- (Tu) cum te numești? (Sing) / (Voi) cum vă numiți? (Plu) / (dumneavoastră) cum vă numiți?(formal)/(what's you name?)
Mă numesc.. ( my name is..)
3-you can simply say , I am.. : Eu sunt.. / sunt..
And to ask back you can say " (Tu) cine ești" / "who are you" for singular ,or "(Voi) cine sunteți" for plular , and to be more polite : "Dumneavoastră cine sunteți?" .
4- Now if you want to say from which country you are..you can simply say :
(Eu) sunt din România / I am from Romania. If you want to ask back you no longer have to use "din" as from because it does not make any sense , instead you will use " de unde" like:
1- (Tu) de unde ești? Where are you from? (Singular).
2- (Voi) de unde sunteți? Where are you from? (Plular).
3- Dumneavoastră de unde sunteți ? Where are you from? (Formal).
5- If you want to say : " It's pleasure to meet you" you can use
1-încântat de cunoștință(masc)/ încântată de cunoștință (fem) : pleased to meet you :))
2- Îmi pare bine de cunoștință : Nice to neet you !
The answere to these will be " De asemenea" : Me too!
PS : There are also many ways , but those are the most common.

Romanian Language Introduction

Romanian Language Introduction

*Romanian Language:
-Romanian is a Romance language spoken mainly in Romania and Moldova, as well  as in some parts of Hungary, Serbia, Bulgaria and Ukraine. It is very useful to know the language if travelling in Romania and especially Moldova, particularly in rural areas.     Romanian may or may not be difficult for speakers of other languages. It is very similar to Italian, and, to a similiar extent, other Romance languages (French,Spanish,Portuguese, Catalan, etc.), so speakers of these languages are more at an advantage.
